The Annual Appeal Campaign is a vital part of Holy Family School’s 2009-10
budget. It is the one and only time each year our school reaches out to
everyone in the community to invest in our parish educational ministry.
What is the goal for this year's Annual Appeal campaign?
The School Advisory Council (SAC) set this year’s goal at $63,000 in
unrestricted gifts to meet current school needs. Our donor goal is to
increase the donor base to 210 benefactors, a 20% increase. Last year we
exceeded our goal with $63,200 from 180 generous donors.
How will Annual Appeal money be used?
All gifts will be used immediately for school operating expenses to

Expand teacher training
Upgrade computer hardware and software
Meet rising utility and insurance costs
Enhance art, Spanish and music programs
Maintain buildings, grounds and equipment benefiting all
ministries
Who participates in the Annual Appeal?
We all do! Donors include parishioners, school families, friends, grandparents,
alumni, alumni parents, faculty and staff. In addition corporate and foundation
matching grants comprise several of our campaign gifts.
What is the Annual Appeal Gala?
The GALA is memorable event to support our school and is an important part of
the Annual Appeal last year through gifts that evening and through related
donations and sponsorships The GALA raised more than $33,000. We hope to raise
50% of our goal this year through the Friday, November 13th GALA.
Can I charge my gift and can I give On Line?
Yes! You can charge your Annual Appeal Gift on VISA, Master Card, American
Express or Discover Credit cards. And this year for the first time you’ll be
able to make your donation ON LINE. Go to holyfamilypdx.org and select Annual
Appeal. Then chose “Donate Now and follow the directions.
What is the employee matching program?
Many employers will match charitable gifts to elementary schools. A listing of
participating employers is available from the Development Office @
774-1428x127, hfsdev@yahoo.com. Or
contact your company’s Human Resources office. United Way contributions can
also be directed to Holy Family School.
School Facts:
Tuition for one parish student is $4759. Actual cost to educate one child
is $6599. The School Advisory Council strives to keep tuition affordable.
Current enrollment Pre K through 8 is 272; our capacity is 291. We continue a
program encouraging parents who are able to pay the full cost of education as
well as a tuition assistance program for those needing help.
Giving Back to the Community
Within our parish, students support the St. Vincent De Paul Society, the
Downtown Chapel Pennies for the Poor, Outreach Ministries in Burnside, NW Pilot
Project, L’Arche and others.
Our Annual Appeal Goal is $63,000. If every parishioner, parent, grandparent,
faculty and staff each gave $64 we would reach our goal! Any gift, no matter
what amount will be greatly appreciated. Thanks for taking part in the success
